Overview

Hundreds of images in your media library with no alt text? I know how that feels.

You know alt text matters. You know you should fill it in. Then you open the media library, see a few hundred images, and close the tab. It won’t do itself.

This plugin does it for you, the way you would do it if you had the time.

How it’s different from regular alt text generators

Most tools describe what’s visible in the picture: “wooden stamp lying on a white table”. But the white background doesn’t matter at all. Customers type something completely different into the search bar.

This plugin writes in the language of your customers, based on what people actually search for. What counts is the product you sell: what it is, what it’s for, who it’s for, and for what occasion.

Instead of: “Photo showing a wooden stamp on a white background”
You get: “Wooden rose stamp for card making, gift for a scrapbooker”

What it does

→ Fills in the alt text, title and description of every image (the title only when it’s a file name like IMG_1234, the description only when it’s empty)
→ Does it when you upload new images, instantly, with no action from you
→ Fills in product images after you save a product in WooCommerce, including ones picked from the media library
→ Catches up on all the images you already have with one click, with a preview of every text it writes and a link to edit it
→ Uses the product title, category and description, so it knows what you sell
→ Varies the text across a gallery, so five photos of one product don’t get five identical alt texts
→ Writes in 6 languages: Polish, English, German, French, Spanish and Dutch

What it doesn’t do

→ It doesn’t overwrite alt texts, titles or descriptions you already have
→ It doesn’t invent features that aren’t visible in the image or listed in the product
→ It doesn’t use brand names or copyrighted characters
→ It keeps things sensible: alt texts are short (up to 125 characters), natural, and free of keyword stuffing

How it works

1. Install the plugin and paste in your Google AI Studio key (it’s free and takes a few minutes to create)
2. Write one or two sentences about your store: what you sell and who buys it
3. Click “Fill in missing” and watch the list of images fill up

From then on, new images get their alt text, title and description automatically.

Who is it for?

WordPress sellers with a store (or a website) full of images who don’t want to spend their evenings typing alt text. Especially for those who want their images to work for their visibility in search, including image search.

What you need

→ WordPress (the plugin also works without WooCommerce, but with WooCommerce it can use your product data)
→ A free API key from Google AI Studio. The free plan is enough for small and medium stores, and the plugin keeps track of Google’s limits (spacing between requests, a clear message when the daily limit runs out)

What about a big library?

Google’s free plan has a daily request limit. If you have several thousand images, the plugin pauses with a message. The next day you click the button again and it continues from where it stopped. Nothing is duplicated and nothing is overwritten.

Frequently asked questions

Will it change my existing alt texts?
No. The plugin only fills in what’s missing.

Do I have to pay for AI?
No. You only need a free key from Google AI Studio. A paid plan is an option for very large stores.

Will the alt text be in English?
Yes, and in five other languages. You choose the language in the settings.

Can I edit what the plugin wrote?
Of course. You can edit everything in the media library, like any regular alt text.

Does this guarantee higher Google rankings?
No, nobody can guarantee that. Good alt text and image descriptions increase the chance that search engines understand what you sell and show your images to the right people.

What happens when the license expires?
The license lasts one year from the date the plugin is installed on your WordPress site. After a year, the plugin turns off. Your images keep all their data, and you can get access to a new version of the plugin.
